In 2021, Spotify hosted its third annual BLK Workforce Development Conference — an internal event created by its Black/African-American employee resource group. The conference focused on engagement through panel discussions, workshops, and live performances.
The visual identity system was rooted in themes of homecoming, community, and positivity. It aimed to celebrate cultural heritage while fostering a sense of belonging and pride.
The design style combined photo cutouts with vibrant heritage patterns, layered with torn textures and hand-drawn elements to evoke a bold, rhythmic, and human-centered aesthetic.
The graphic treatment helped create a cohesive atmosphere that amplified the voices and experiences at the heart of the conference.
